Interplay between superconductivity and charge-order in an extended Falicov-Kimball model under orbital magnetic field

摘要
A Falicov-Kimball model extended by a triplet pairing along bonds in a square lattice is studied under the application of a transverse magnetic field. The original Falicov-Kimball model gives rise to charge-density wave (CDW) at half-filling and the incorporation of a triplet pairing term allows superconductivity to coexist with charge order for certain range of Coulomb interaction strengths. Strong correlation suppresses the SC-pairing and the CDW-order attains its maximum value. An orbital magnetic field is taken into account by the Peierls' substitution in the hopping term which affects the pairing condensation and CDW formation in different manner at different regimes of the Coulomb correlation. Certain fields assist in the formation of Charge order whereas certain fields have detrimental effects to it. It is found that some of the fields where CDW is enhanced, the SC pairing decreases. In the low interaction regime, a gapped system becomes gapless under the application of the orbital magnetic fields.(c) 2023 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
