CECS continues to be studied as its etiology is unclear. The evolution of alternative diagnostic options may provide more insight into the pathophysiology of the syn-drome, which may provide more availability for a greater diversity of treatment op-tions. Proper diagnosis through clinical and compartmental pressure evaluation is imperative. Conservative treatment methods may be effective early in the course of the condition, but the only definitive treatment is a surgical fasciotomy of the affected compartment. The literature demonstrates excellent success with the myriad of fas-ciotomy techniques that return patients and athletes back to normal, pain-free activity.
