The concept of ecological civilization, within the context of the law of the sea, covers a variety of issues such as sea level rise, marine biodiversity, and marine plastic pollution. With this perspective in mind, the 10th Ocean Law and Governance International Symposium was jointly hosted by the Law School and the Institute of Ocean Governance and Maritime Culture at Dalian Maritime University in China, in collaboration with the Center for the Study of Law in Theory and Practice, based at Liverpool's John Moores University in the UK. The symposium took place in Dalian, China, from June 23rd to 24th, 2023, and utilized a combination of online and offline formats. Over 30 participants from research institutions and organizations worldwide attended the symposium, engaging in discussions on the current state of global oceans, future development trends, and cutting-edge issues in international law of the sea.
