Each epoch has an impact on the language, introducing various kinds of linguistic transformations into it, which can concern all language levels, from phonetics to the structure of the text. The development of new technologies, the activation of migration processes and changes in public and individual consciousness, characteristic of our time; could not but affect the language. "Easy language" as a variant of the simplified German language is intended to facilitate the reading and understanding of texts by people who have difficulty reading in literary German, including those who are just learning the language. "Easy language" is created artificially and is characterized by a specific set of rules that differ from the linguistic norm. To ensure the mastery of a full-fledged literary language and to neutralize the threat of distortion of ideas about the language norm among learners of German as a foreign language, it is necessary to develop methodological principles for working with materials in the "Easy Language" in the educational process, that is, to formulate the starting points that determine the content, methods and organization work with texts in "Easy language". This research is aimed to develop methodological principles for using texts in "Easy Language" in teaching German as a foreign language. The methodological base of scientific research included the main methods of linguistic and stylistic analyzes. An integrated approach was used that combines the following methods and types of analysis: the method of linguistic description, the method of contextual analysis and the comparative method, the method of linguistic interpretation, based on the interpretation of the system-semantic relations of the linguistic units of the text. The information and empirical base of the research was scientific works on the research problem, German-language regulations governing the provision of information in a simplified language and media texts in "Easy Language" (a total of 149 texts of various genres). In the course of the study, five methodological principles were formulated that determine the content, methods and organization of work with materials in "Easy language" in the educational process and are in a relationship of interconnection and interdependence among themselves: the principle of transparency, the principle of checking factual information, the principle of language comparison, the principle of priority the original text over the translated one, the principle of ownership of background technical information. In the study, for the first time in the study of this phenomenon, methodological principles for the use of texts in the "Easy Language" in the educational process were formulated. The study contributes to the methodology of teaching the German language. The research contributes to the teaching methodology of the German language. The proposed methodological principles can not only be applied directly in teaching the discipline "German language", but also used to develop an international standard for high-quality translations into a simplified language and ensure the transparency of such translations.
