摘要
In Argentina, archaeological heritage located in urban contexts is not usually a government priority and, therefore, there is a lack of public policies to prevent its destruction, which results in the irreversible loss of a valuable cultural heritage. Archaeological heritage management determines its safeguarding, for which it is necessary to have accurate information for decision-making. This article presents, on the one hand, a mapping of the elements and archaeological sites of the city of Olavarria incorporated into a georeferenced digital database (GIS), and on the other hand, a zoning proposal for this heritage. Various sites and elements of archaeological heritage are identified from the analysis of a series of investigations and historical sources. Likewise, considering criteria of minimum antiquity established in national regulations and international legal instruments, areas of greater probability of finding archaeological remains are defined. Based on the systematization of information and aimed at protection, the map and zoning proposal are expected to be instruments for facilitating local management of the city's archaeological heritage.
