Incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts in pharmacy education and experiential training

摘要
While there is not any literature directly reporting on APPE education regarding DEI, there are some important techniques and lessons we can extrapolate from related literature. A topic discussion about DEI with real-life scenarios can often effectively start the conversation about DEI at the beginning of a rotation. Continuous effort should be implemented to help students improve their communication skills. Students should also be encouraged to continue to dialogue about their own identities and reflect upon other people’s stories and identities to gain an understanding of the nuances of DEI. © American Society of Health-System pharmacists 2023.
