THE METAPSYCHOLOGY OF THE DRIVE OF POWER: CONSIDERATIONS ON THE PSYCHIC CONSTITUTION

It is assumed that metapsychology still constitutes one of the most obscure fields of psychoanalytic epistemology. In view of this, this proposal rescues the drive for empowerment, pointing out its expressions in a block of psychic actions, named here Metapsychology of the drive for empowerment, being first, taking over the world to constitute itself, and then domination, both operationalized by the love and hate. For such an undertaking, we return to Freud's work, crossing the interpreter-translator impasses regarding the term that originates the translation, the Bemachtigungstrieb, paying attention to Piera Aulagnier's observations. As a result, the study provides a theoretical position for re-reading the original forces articulated by love and hate, ways in which aspects of the power of the drive to seize become evident.
