Are Inorganic Lead Halide Perovskite Nanocrystals Promising Scintillators?

摘要
Inspectionsbased on ionizing radiation have spread into variousareas including our daily lives, industries, and scientific investigationsand now face increasing demands with the development of society. CommercialX-ray detectors are mostly based on an indirect operation model inwhich the scintillator transforms X-ray photons into visible lightand bottom photodiodes convert them into images. Obviously, the performanceof the scintillator determines the final imaging properties, and thepursuit of scintillators with superior properties and lower cost isongoing. Recently, inorganic lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs)emerged as promising scintillators for X-ray imaging. Here, we makea detailed conclusion of the superiority of PNC scintillators andtake a new look at their scintillation performances. Discrepanciesare discussed and some suggestions are proposed. Finally, perspectiveson future developments, advice to the field, and proposed solutionsto the problems toward full device performance and practical applicationsare provided.
