摘要
Previous studies have investigated the prevalence of burnout through the meta-analysis of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) in teachers. However, the findings were presented in a general way or are not current. Likewise, the works have not been evaluated by geographical regions or are linked to other variables. By the other hand, the burnout components, as well as their effect sizes, have been reported based on the direct scores and not on their means. The present investigation carried out a meta-analysis of burnout intensity [(k = 55/n=31761], the results show possible publication biases and a high degree of heterogeneity in the studies. In addition to the aforementioned, there are significant differences in the level of personal achievement by geographical area (X2= 15.45, gl= 5, p= .009, epsilon 2= .2862). The potential intercultural discrepancies of the analyzed research are discussed.
