摘要
Objective: This work aimed to analyze theoretical and pragmatic conceptions about the mediation of information and mediation of culture, reflecting on their interweaving and appropriations that aim at the development and strengthening of the social and cultural protagonism of the subjects involved in these processes. Methodology: The research is a bibliographical one with a qualitative approach, whose bibliographical survey was based on the Reference Database of Journal Articles in Information Science (BRAPCI), from the Annals of the National Meeting of Research and Postgraduate Studies in Information Science Information (ENANCIB) and the National Meeting of Teaching and Research in Information (CINFORM), within the period from 2004 to 2022. The content analysis technique proposed by Bardin (2004) was used in the reflections raised in this research. Results: The conceptions and relations between the mediation of information and cultural mediation are presented, taking into account the social and cultural aspects that permeate these processes and that favor the exercise of protagonist actions that are made possible by the appropriations of these phenomena. In view of this, information professionals, when carrying out their mediating actions based on the cultural traits and belonging of the user community, favor the process of appropriating information and culture, in order to collaborate towards the achievement of a protagonist posture on the part of the subjects involved in actions. Conclusions: It is evident that both the appropriation of information and the appropriation of culture are essential for the production of meanings and for the meaning processes on the part of the subjects, constituting themselves as basic inputs to develop and expand their actions as sociocultural protagonists.
