From the history of heresies to the historiography of orthodoxies. Study on the function of Islamic heresiography at the end of the 3rd/9th' century

The development of the heresiographic practice in Islam coincides with r, _the emergence of Islamic orthodoxies during the 3(rd)-4(th)/9(th) 10(th) centuries. This study therefore analyzes the link between the literary production of heresies and the theologico-political formation of orthodoxy within the various currents ofIslam. This subject is approached through a study ofthe role that heresiographic production of anti -apocalyptic representations of early shi'i heresies plays in the dynamics of formation of Islamic orthodoxies and the stabilization ofpolitical and religious authorities.
