摘要
Fetal perinatal emergencies in the delivery room require immediate and focused intervention. The primary goal in perinatology is a safe delivery. With regard to fetal wellbeing, particular attentionmust be paid to avoide fetal trauma and injury during pregnancy and childbirth (e.g., shoulder dystocia) as well as prevention of intrapartum birth asphyxia (e.g., due to mechanical obstructions during delivery or umbilical cord complications). The quality of obstetric outcome results from risk-adapted recognition, avoidance, and treatment of these rare but serious perinatal emergencies. Successful management is based on implementation of facility-specific algorithms in conjunction with regular simulation training.
