摘要
This article touches upon the topical issues of teaching foreign-language oral speech to adult learners in additional education in modern conditions of uncertainty. The present state of society is characterized by a high level of anxiety, stress, tension. Today, there is constant cultural aggression, discrimination, and cultural vandalism in the world. In the current conditions of uncertainty, contradictions, interethnic and intercultural conflicts, the problem of teaching a foreign language to adults seems particularly relevant. The educational potential of a foreign language, its possibilities for the development of a sense of patriotism, citizenship, and Russian cultural identity in the adult category of students are revealed. The authors identify categories that allow the selection of information units for inclusion in the process of teaching foreign languages to adults. The authors attribute the following to the specific methods of teaching foreignlanguage oral speech to adult language course students in conditions of uncertainty: the reception of provocation; the reception of psychological influence; the reception of a call to conflict. The article presents a set of exercises, including exercises of a simulative and problematic nature, aimed at improving the foreign language oral speech of students. The authors present developed communicative situations that are close to real situations of intercultural interaction, allowing adult students of language courses to declare themselves, their country, defend their own point of view, influence the emotional and sensual sphere of the interlocutor. The results of the survey of language course students are reflected, which show that students have a need for foreign language communication in modern conditions of uncertainty, while they have a weak idea of their own cultural identity, experience difficulties and lack of linguistic means in situations of intercultural interaction, fragmentary ideas about the mentality of a foreign-language interlocutor. The authors cite data from the first series of experimental training held at the Institute of Continuing Education of the Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University named after N.A. Dobrolyubov, the results of which demonstrated the growth and development of foreign language oral speech skills of adult students in the experimental group under conditions of uncertainty.
