摘要
Additive manufacturing (AM) has seen a rapid growth in recent times, and it is also known as 3D printing. It utilises a 3D CAD model for the fabrication of a part using layer-by-layer deposition due to which the produced part has a staircase effect which causes increased surface roughness. This problem can be reduced by predicting the surface roughness values in pre-processing. In this paper, the existing prediction models to study the surface roughness quality were compared with the suggested prediction model, and the prospects for further research in this field are discussed.
