The Systems Theory and Method for the Readjustment of the Agricultural Production Structure

regards agri- cultural production as a comprehensive system in which materials and energy alter-nate between a given agricultural economic system and a given agricultural ecologicalsystem by means of an agricultural technological system.Deng believes that thesethree systems and the alternating relationship between materials and energy andamong their component elements constitute an agricultural production structure.Inhis view,the readjustment of the agricultural production structure means a rationalregulation of the alternation between materials and energy in agricultural produc-tion.The optimization of agricultural production structure brings about the maximum economic results of agricultural production with limited human,material and financialresources,based on the premise that the requirements of ecological and eco-nomic balances in a region within a definite period of time are met.This article pre-sents the optimal model for an agricultural production structure suited to the read-justment of China’s agriculture at present and uses the examples of Hainan Island andHcbei Province to illustrate the application of the model.
