The Mt. Qomolangma region is on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (4000 m a.s.l.)in the low-latitude subtropical zone. Due to climatic barrier of the highest and largest mountains, the string of the lofty Himalayan peaks blocks up the warm and moist monsoons which blow up from the Indian Ocean.
