摘要
Experiences with anastomotic leak-age following 526 esophageal resec-tions for cancer are reported.Therewere 11 leakages,an incidence of 2.1%due mainly to faulty technique. To achieve good healing of theanastomosis the following points shouldbe emphasized:adequate blood supplyto the tissues, minimal trauma to theesophagus,well-apposited mucosal sur-faces,tight coverage of the stoma, andelimination of undue tension on thesuture line.
