Pesticide Innovations Bank on Biotech The Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)on March 2rd released its annual high-techdevelopment report for 2009,which dis-cusses biotechnology.The trend for modern pesticide innova-tion is towards"green",the report said,re-ferring to products with high efficiency andlow toxic,low dosage and low residue andeasy degradable.The pesticide renovation has been increas-ingly relying on advanced biotechnology.Bio-pesticides are regarded as additionalname of advanced pesticides in the post-genomics era.Based on the biotech,increasing high-ef-ficient and environmental-friendly pesti-cides have been developed and applied inagricultural and forest industries.Today,biotech is not only used in the research and
