Mark Twain’s later fiction The Diaries of Adam and Eve takes on an ironic and humorous way to tell an oldest love storyof the first couple of human beings that distinguishes it from his novels in his earlier years. Mark Twain writes this fiction in thevoices of Adam and Eve with the new form of a diary as a fiction. Eve, the main character in this fiction, is always regarded as thenew woman image, nonetheless, she is still fettered by the social tradition. This paper tries to adopt feminism to analyze the dualis-tic nature of Eve’s character.
