On the Relationship between Thinking Pattern and Translation

Although language is the carrier of thought, it doesn’t decide thinking pattern. It is people’s recognition of the world as well as their grasping methods that decides their expressing tool--language. The goal of translation is to satisfy both the author of the original and the reader of the translation in equal measure, and in order to achieve this goal, we must take a deep understanding on the differences between Chinese and western thinking pattern.
