The 1980 s witness the emergence and development of the cultural turn in translation studies, which closely combinedtranslation and culture from then on, and a new perspective-the cultural perspective for translation studies. The gender issue is animportant part of cultural studies. Feminist translation theory states its viewpoints on the role of gender, and approves of translators’ gender role in the translation of the original text. In a given social context, the writers and translators of literature are both genderedhuman beings.Therefore, on doubtfully they are influenced by the political, economical and cultural factors. These will more or lessput an influence on the writing and the translating. This paper aims to have a systematic analysis on feminist translation theory andexplore the relationship between feminism and literary translation.
