Chinese Open-minded Towards New Gadgets The China Research Institute for Science Popularization says in its 2006 report that more than 80 percent of respondents to a survey were "open-minded towards new science and technologies." However, 48.6 percent of respondents said they would wait and see when a new product hits the market, and wouldn’t consider buying it unless it got a good review. In comparison, 37.8 percent said they would try it out without a review, and 36.2 percent of respondents said they would seek information to make sure it harms neither health nor the environment before making a purchase.
