A Critical Review on Bacon's Attitudes towards Women

Regarded as a philosophical advocate and practitioner of the scientifi c method,though,Sir Francis Bacon seems to have failed in the task of breaking away from the conventional thinking of his time that women should be obedient to men,which is manifested in his famed utterance that"wives are young men’s mistresses;companions for middle age;and old men’s nurses"(Scott 34).During the 16th century AD in Britain,religious institutions
