摘要
In the practice of conventional polarography, to remove the dissolved oxygen from the test solution is a necessary task. For neutral or alkaline solutions, the routine procedure using sodium sulphite is easy to work, and the sulphite reacts with oxygen rapidly. Though reports on the method itself, as well as on the polarographic behaviour of sulphite ion and the quantity of sodium sulphite added were published at an earlier date, yet the limitations of its application with respect to the range of applied voltage have not yet been fully discussed. In the authors’ recent experiments with this method, the sulphite ion was introduced either by a sufficient quantity of solid sodium sulphite or by a suitable volume of its freshly made
