Metallurgy has a very long history in China. As early as the later period of the Chou Dynasty, the use of iron had already begun, and the art of swordmaking during the Chuen-qiou period(770-475B. C.) was recorded in many early Chinese historical documents. The use of copper began even earlier. Articles in bronze could be traced back to the Shang Dynasty, showing that more than a thousand years before Christ people in China had already mastered
