Since the early 1980, the in-situ IR reflection spectroelectrochemistry has been used to study the oxidation mechanisms of small organic molecules on various electrodes. In our laboratory, the systematic investigations of electocatalaytic oxidation of molecules such as CHOH, HCHO, HCOOH, CHCHOH and CHCHO in different aqueous solutions on pt electrode have been carrying out.
