A Study of Subtitle Translation from the Perspective of Reiss's Text Typology Theory

In recent years, with the rapid development of mass media, films have become more and more popular both at home andabroad, meanwhile the subtitle translation has become a booming industry since it plays a vital role in establishing a relationshipbetween the audience and film & TV works. Subtitle translation plays a more and more important role in bridging the audience andfilms. Most of the films are imported from the foreign countries, however, because of the barrier of the foreign language, the Chineseviewers have to enjoy the film on the basis of pictures and the translated captions, which give a great challenge to the translator.
