Global People Issue 15, 2021Chinese audiences followed the performances of Chinese athletes during the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 with rapt excitement. Yang Qian, a 21-year-old shooter, claimed the first gold of the Games with a victory in women’s 10 m air rifle. From trailing by a mere 0.1 point to capping her opponent at 9.8 points, Yang impressed the audience with her composure under great pressure.
