An unusual presentation of tuberculosis in pregnancy

Tuberculosis(TB)is a systemic infection caused byMycobacterium tuberculosis.Extrapulmonary TBaccounts for 10% to 27% of all the patients with TB.Here we report an unusual case of extrapulmonary TB ina pregnant woman.CASE REPORTA 29-year-old pregnant woman(gravida 3)at 20 weeksgestation complaining of a fluctuant,increasinglyuncomfortable,non-painful mass on the mons pubis(Fig.1)and incidental skin lesions on the left wrist and in thefront of the tibia and knees(Fig.2),was admitted to theObstetrics Outpatient Department of the Division ofObstetrics & Gynecology,Liverpool Health Service,Sydney,in April 2002.On admission,the patient had no
