English Variation and China's College English Teaching

English variation is among the mostly focused fields in sociolinguistics and has a close relation with English teaching.English variation awareness is considered a kind of intercultural communicative competence, which can be improved a lot if English learners make clear the characteristics of English variation and foster English variation awareness. The training of such awareness should be included in China’s college English teaching. This paper starts from English variation and analyzes its enlightenment on China’s college English teaching, hoping that a little light can be shed on training English talents needed in today’s China where the Belt and Road Initiative has developed vigorously.
