Twenty-eight samples of garnet are collected and divided into five groups by thepresent authors. The Mossbauer spectra of the garnets are measured at room temperature. The line width and intensity of two component peaks of Fedoublet for pyropes inkimberlite and inclusions of basalt are always not equal. The degree of intensity asymmetryof Fedoublet is denoted by DA. We have found that the DA is closely related to pyropeend-member molecule percentage (X), uvarovite and hanleite end-member molecule percent-age (X) and CrOwt.% (X). The linear equations are obtained: DA=-8.43+0.31X,DA=12.15+0.62X, DA=11.92+1.88X. Finally a multiple regression equation isderived: DA=8.24+0.05X+0.63X. The next nearest neighbour effect of Crionsin pyrope plays an important role for the origin of the asymmetry of Fedoublet. TheMossbauer spectra of other four groups of garnet are discussed in the present paper.
