British English and American English are two major varieties of English.My paper will make a brief study on them.First,I will talk about their historical developments and then focus on their disparities,list their major differences in vocabulary,pronunciation,spelling and grammar.The existence of these differences is natural and inevitable because of the different historical and cultural development of Britain and America.So we should take positive attitudes towards them.
