Ti-DIFFUSED LiNbO3 OPTICAL WAVEGUIDES WITH LOW LOSS

The fabrication and performance of Ti-diffused LiNbOoptical waveguides are discussed in this paper. By a simpler and reproducible technology, single-mode optical waveguides with losses as low as ldB/cm were obtained by the suppression of LiO outward diffusion during the fabrication of waveguides in titanium indiffused LiNbO. And the other parameters of optical waveguides, such as mode index Nm, maximum refractive index change △n, diffusion depth d, diffusion constant D, were measured.
