摘要：
Animals are widely used in English and Chinese expressions as metaphorical figures to convey metaphorical mean ings. The same metaphorical figures may show different metaphorical meanings whereas the same metaphorical meanings coul involve different metaphorical figures in both languages. By the comparison of metaphors and the meanings in English and Ch nese, this study aims at the demonstration of cultural differences conveyed in culture, custom, geography and aesthetic concep tion of diversified nations.
