Objective: To prepare fibroblast populated collagen lattices quickly and economically, and to observe the shapes and distribution of the fibroblasts and measure FPCLs contraction successfully. Methods: Three different volumes of FPCLs were prepared with 24 well plates and the best volume was chosen. Results: The shapes and distribution of fibroblasts of three volumes of FPCLs of 24 well plates were all visible clearly; the shapes of FPCLs of plate 1 were circular dish like and their contraction was measured. Because of plate 2 with folded edge the contraction could not be measured and plate 3 with thickest structure was found to have no change of contraction. Conclusions: The volume (2×DMEM: 0.16 ml) of plate 1 was the best to be chosen.
