China officially adopted the Kimberley Process Conflict Diamond Certification System this year. The decision was jointly made by the State Quality Administration, the Customs Administration, MOFTEC, the State Economic and Trade Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of State Land and Resources. The move is designed to carry out China’s obligation in curbing illegal dealings of "conflict diamonds" and maintaining peace and stability in Africa.
