Brief introduction to the State Key Laboratory for Severe Storm Research

The State Key Laboratory for Severe Storm Research (LSSR), located in Peking University 9announced its establishment with the approval of the State Planning Commission of China in 1989.The LSSR got through the assessment of the State Education Commission of China in October 1995 andopened to atmospheric scientists in February 1996. Prof.Chen Shoujun is the director of theLaboratory and Prof. Zhao Bailin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,is the chairmanof the academic committee which consists of 16 experts in atmospheric science in China. The LSSRhas 24 faculty members,including 18 professors or associate professors, 5 lectures and 1administrator.
