摘要：
The Orienting Project, a working program put forward by the CAS in early 1992 with the objective of promoting the combination of science and technology with the economy, is the basis of the State’s Industry-University-Laboratory Program. Starting from the guiding principle for running the CAS, this article reviews the background and concrete practice of the project, discusses its significance and experience and presents some tentative ideas for doing this job well under the condition of the socialist market economy.
