Located on the bank of the Yalu River in the southeast of Jilin Province,northeast China,Ji’an County covers anarea of 3,217 square kilometres and has a population of 210,000.The Post and Telecommunications Office of Ji’an County consists of 7 managerial sections(offices),6 postaloperation teams,15 rural branch offices and 2 rural secondary offices.There arc 294 staff in the post andtelecommunications office,among them,115 employees work for postal operation.The Post and Telecommunications Office of Ji’an County provides all kinds of domestic and international postand telecommunications service and conducts some mail exchanges with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.In 1984,the office’s volume of mail exchanges was:1,970,000 letter post items,60,000 parcels,70,000 money orders and
