The Institute of Mountain Disasters andEnivronment(IMDE),Chinese Academy of Sciences is a comprehensive institute of mountain sciences with mountain disasters(debris flow,landslide etc.),mountain environment,mountain development and utilization as the focus of study.IMDE could be traced back to April 1966 when it was the Southwestern-China Branch of the Geographical Institute,Chinese Academy of Sciences.In
