摘要
Having worked in college for many years,the writer was motivated to do some researches into the reading problems in order to discover an effective method for reading teaching and learning.The interference of mother tongue,so much absence of reading activities and lack of good reading habits are main factors for the students’ poor reading ability.The paper starts by describing the demerits of traditional teaching methods in extensive reading course(ERC) and explores communicative language teaching(CLT) theoretically.Then it analyzes the basic information of ERC,discusses how CLT is applied in ERC with the intention of pushing for possible improvements in extensive reading teaching in China.
