摘要：
In this essay, the complexity of the present situation of world Englishes, comments on the spread of the language, debate over standardized variants in English and the pedagogical implication relating to what types of English should be taught will be discussed. The expansion of English in China is then analyzed concerning issues such as attitudes towards local variety,desirable teaching models, and future adjustment.
