摘要：

This paper introduces the development of the pension system in East Asian and Southeast Asian countries in the backdrop of population aging all over the world.Based on the historical development and comparison of the present pension systems of different countries in East Asia and Southeastern Asia,this paper proposes the key components and the functions of each component of the pension system.Moreover shortcomings of low coverage and benefit and suggestions for the future are also covered in this paper.
