MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF(Nb,Ti)C-Ni COMPOSITE

摘要
In this paper, (Nb,Ti)C-Ni composites are inves-tigated via two kincds of sintering methods: (a) sinlering in ar-gon and (b) pre-sintering in vacuum and hot isostatic pressingin argon. The results show that the later is better,and that mi-crostructure and mechanical properties of (Nb, Ti) C-Ni composites are much better than that of TiC-Nl cermets.Observa-tions of the fracture path indicate that the improved toughnessand strength are attibuted to crack deflction by (Nb,Ti)C par-ticles.
