Since 1980, organolanthanide chemistry of substituted cyclopentadienyl has been rapidly developed. Many substituted cyclopentadienyl lanthanoid chloride complexes have been synthesized. These sterically bulky ligands, such as-CMe, -(MeSi)CH,-t-BuCp, etc., can stabilize the complexes with low coordination number, especially the complexes of mono-and bin(substituted cyclopentadienyl) lanthanoid chloride.
