In order to measure performance characteristics of fibre optic temperature sensors, the IEC has published a new standard IEC 61757-2-1, Fibre Optic Sensors – Part 2-1: Temperature measurement – Temperature sensors based on fibre Bragg gratings. This standard specifies the terminology, characteristic performance parameters and related test methods of fibre optic temperature sensors based on one of the most sensitive sensor techniques available,
