摘要：

The change of teaching methods manifests the shift of language competence requirements for learners and the development oftheories of language and language teaching and learning. This essay aims at elaborating one of the popular teaching methods in EFLclass nowadays, Communicative Language Teaching(CLT) and analysing its characteristics and shortcomings, hoping it would raisemore thoughts on its adoption in practical English classes.
