China has launched a deep gold prospecting demonstration project to evaluate gold resource potential within 3000 m underground in the east of the North China Craton

On October 18, 2018, the China Geological Survey launched a project of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, entitled "Prediction and Deep Exploration Demonstration of Gold Polymetallic Deposits in the Jiaodong and Liaodong Areas within the North China Craton". For this project, Wulong and BaiyunXiaotongjiapuyi in Jiaodong, as well as the northern Zhaoping belts of Liaodong, were chosen as ore prospecting demonstration areas(Fig. 1).
