Low back pain is a common public health problem inwestern industrialized societies and the world as well.Studies indicate that the prevalence rate ranges from 12%to 35%, with around 10% of patients becomingchronically disabled. It also places an enormouseconomic burden on society. Although the exact cause oflow back pain has yet to be defined, intervertebral discdegeneration is considered a major source of it. Sincepatients with degenerative discs are often asymptomatic,the mechanisms of it are still unclear.
