In May—August 1979, China carried out the first Qinghai-Xizang Plateau meteorological experiment and a wealth of conventional data and heat source observational data over the Tibetan Plateau were obtained.During June—July 1986, scientists from China and the U. S. carried out a P. R. C.-U. S. joint Tibetan Plateau meteorological expedition in Lhasa and Nagqu. They
